Axolotls are carnivores, and they love to eat. There is a variety of food you can feed your axolotl, but they especially love nightcrawlers and salmon pellets. When they’re younger, it’s important to keep the axolotl food in smaller pieces, just like for human babies! As they get older, they will consume more and can handle larger pieces. They will eventually be able to eat a full-size nightcrawler and larger salmon pellets. Place the axolotl food in a feeding tub. This will prevent the food from dirtying the water and forcing you to clean it more often. In addition to nightcrawlers and salmon pellets, we also sell blackworm storage bins and worm farms so you can cultivate your own axolotl food at home.
